Hemp Paper Mask Workshop
The Hemp Paper Mask Workshop is a hands-on introduction to working with hemp paper as a sculptural material. Inspired by traditional Caretos masks, the workshop explores how a natural fibre-based material can be shaped, layered, and transformed into expressive three-dimensional forms. Designed for those who want to learn through direct making, it offers the opportunity to experiment with texture, structure, and form, while engaging with both traditional references and contemporary material practice. Grounded in hands-on exploration, this workshop introduces participants to the basic techniques of building masks with hemp paper in a simple and accessible way. Alongside the practical work, it also opens space to reflect on how materials carry meaning, and how they can be reinterpreted through making. No previous experience is required. Participants take home their completed mask.
This workshop is available for group bookings only.
