We’re really back on Patreon
Some of you may remember that we’ve had a Patreon for quite a while.
We started it because we wanted a place where we could share more of what happens behind the scenes at Atelier d’Guide — the experiments, the processes, the things we are learning and, sometimes, the things that don’t quite work.
And we did share quite a lot there… but, if we’re being honest, we weren’t always very consistent. We would post for a while, then get caught up with other work, disappear for some time, and eventually come back again.
So yes, we’re back on Patreon. But this time, we really want to stay.
Why Patreon?
A lot of what we do starts with an idea that we simply want to try.
What happens if we process this fibre differently?
Can we turn it into paper?
Can we make something new from it?
What happens if we change the technique?
Can this material be used in a completely different way?
Not every experiment becomes a product or a finished project. And that is actually an important part of our work.
We want to have the freedom to experiment, test, make mistakes and try again.
That takes time, materials and sometimes quite a lot of failed attempts. Patreon gives us a way to make those experiments possible while also bringing you closer to the process.
What will we share?
This time, we want Patreon to be a place where we share more of the actual process.
You can expect videos, experiments, behind-the-scenes content, tutorials and more detailed looks at the things we are working on.
We’ll be sharing things that don't necessarily make it onto Instagram — including the messy parts, the testing, the failures and the little discoveries along the way.
For example, we've recently been experimenting with flax paper, and we've also been testing different ways of painting our hemp paper masks.
These are exactly the kinds of experiments we want to share there.
Why your support matters
Supporting us on Patreon isn't just about getting access to extra content.
It helps us keep experimenting.
Every subscription helps cover the materials, tools, time and work that go into developing these ideas. It gives us a little more freedom to try something simply because we are curious about it — even when we don't yet know where it will lead.
And for us, that's really valuable.
We don't want Patreon to feel like a place where we simply put content behind a paywall. We want it to feel more like you are coming along for the process.
You'll see what we're working on, how we approach it, what goes wrong, what works and what we decide to try next.
So, after a few starts and stops, we're giving Patreon another proper go.
This time, we're really back.
If you'd like to support our work and follow more of our experiments, you can join us on Patreon.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far — and to everyone who decides to join us now. It genuinely helps us keep making, testing and exploring.
See you over there.
