Hemp Plaster Course
The Hemp Plaster Course is a practical and in-depth introduction to the preparation, application and use of hemp plaster in natural building. Designed for participants who want to develop a more thorough understanding of hemp-based plastering, the course combines technical knowledge with extensive hands-on practice. Throughout the course, participants explore the properties and composition of hemp plaster, learn how to prepare and mix different formulations, and develop practical skills in applying the material to different surfaces. The course also covers the principles behind successful plastering, including surface preparation, layering, thickness, texture, drying and finishing. Alongside the practical work, the course considers the role of hemp plaster within low-impact construction, including its material properties, breathability and potential contribution to healthier and more sustainable building practices. Particular attention is given to understanding the behaviour of the material and making informed choices during preparation and application. The course is suitable for those interested in natural building, sustainable construction and working professionally or practically with hemp-based materials. No previous experience with hemp plaster is required.
